Last update on June 7, 2023

Jean-Marc Olivot presented insights on selecting patients with a low aspect score during the LINNC Asia 2023 course. He discussed the challenge of determining the role of advanced imaging in patient selection for thrombectomy. Jean-Marc Olivot suggested a two-step approach: the first step involves ruling in patients with large vessel occlusion acute ischemic stroke, providing tips on interpreting studies comparing imaging modalities. The second step focuses on identifying patients with a large core using advanced imaging techniques. He highlighted major trials such as HERMES, CLEAR, ANGEL-ASPECTS or LASTE-RESCUE JAPAN, and emphasized a transition from patient selection to individualized assessment. Watch the video for more!
