Tingyu Yi (Zhangzhou) presents the case of a 71-year-old man with sudden left-sided weakness lasting three hours. Imaging showed intracranial segment occlusion of the ICA involving the MCA and right A1, with agenesis of the left A1, as well as a large infarct core and penumbra. DSA revealed an acute left ICA occlusion.
To treat this special acute internal carotid artery occlusion, the surgical team opted for thrombectomy using a parallel double stent.
