Flow diverter treatment for vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm associated with significant parent vessel stenosis

Last update on October 25, 2024

A 40-year-old man, followed for 5 years for hypertension, was seen urgently for neck pain and was diagnosed with aseptic meningitis. Since this diagnosis, he had been suffering from persistent headaches. Three months later, he was diagnosed with a dissecting vertebral artery aneurysm terminating in the PICA. This means that, when he first came to the emergency department, he was actually suffering from a vertebral artery dissection.

Watch the procedure used to treat this patient with a flow diverter.
