A woman presented with left hearing loss. A left tympanic glomus was diagnosed. Transarterial embolization with EVOH was decided.

  • Transarterial embolization with EVOH
  • Surgical resection 1 day after embolization

SET UP

  • Right radial access - Short sheath 6F (Terumo)
  • Guiding Catheter Benchmark 071 6F (Penumbra)
  • Double lunem balloon Scepter 4x11 mm (Microvention)
  • Traxcess 0.014 (Microvention)
  • Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH - Squid 18 -Balt)

 

Catheterization of the arterial branch coming from the internal maxilar artery.

The Scepter balloon was positioned inside the tumoral branch to avoid reflux of Squid into the middle meningeal artery.

The Scepter was inflated and 14 mL of Squid was slowly injected during 50 minutes.
