The treatment of a complicated Perimedullary AVM on the spinal cord

Last update on February 20, 2026

In this video, Adnan Siddiqui presented the case of a 50‑year‑old woman with a complex perimedullary arteriovenous malformation (AVM) of the spinal cord. The patient presented with sudden neck pain, right upper‑extremity weakness, and imaging findings suggestive of an intradural cervical hemorrhage associated with an underlying vascular malformation.

After multidisciplinary discussion, a transvenous embolization was performed using a pressure cooker technique with Onyx and NBCA embolic agents under general anesthesia, combined with controlled blood pressure reduction through cardiac pacing.

Watch the full session to see how the strategy unfolded and what the post‑treatment imaging ultimately revealed.
