Pedro Lylyk shares with Fausto Ferraz the origins and development of an innovative transvascular approach to treating chronic subdural hematomas (CSDH). Inspired by Luis Savastano’s concept and building on earlier venous access techniques, Lylyk explains how the minimally invasive method—using chest electrocoagulation and subdural access via the middle meningeal artery (MMA)—was trained, tested, and approved in Argentina. He highlights the evolution of specialized microcatheters for safe delivery, discusses anatomical limitations, clot types, and future availability, with U.S. trials expected in 2025.
