Transarterial embolization of the remant of a previous ruptured parietal AVM with a non adhesive liquid embolic

Last update on November 22, 2024

The patient is a 48-year-old woman who presented with a two-year history of cluster headaches on the right side, suddenly worsening, and tingling spreading from the right hemiface to the right lower extremity. At that time, imaging showed an unruptured left parietal arteriovenous malformation (AVM), which was not treated.
Two years later, she presented with severe headaches and nausea, and this time the imaging showed bleeding from the malformation.

Find out how the surgical team decided to treat this AVM and the results.
