Versatile coil used to treat a ruptured right A1-A2 junction aneurysm

Last update on January 20, 2025

Dr. Matt Amans at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) recently used a single 2mm x 2.5cm Target Tetra® Detachable Coil to treat a ruptured 3.2mm x 2.3mm x 1.3mm right A1-A2 junction aneurysm with a 1.5mm neck and received an excellent post-operative result.

This case demonstrated the versatility of the Target Tetra Detachable Coil as an initial, comparably-sized ultrasoft coil was unable to fit within the aneurysm.
