Antiplatelet therapy and the risk of ischemic and hemorrhagic complications associated with Pipeline embolization of cerebral aneurysms: a systematic review and pooled analysis

Antiplatelet regimen and associated complications are still a major concern for flow diverter indications, especially for those lesions amenable to other endovascular techniques. The unavailability of the new antiplatelet drugs worldwide, pose an important role of this paper in the neurointerventionalist field regarding the dual regimen with ASA plus Clopidogrel.

This review analyzed the time and dose of antiplatelets for Pipeline device implantation in 2002 patients enrolled in controlled trials studies, searching for ischemic and hemorrhagic complications related to it.
