Case presentation

Patient

  • 55yo. female patient with a ca. 5mm ICA-PCom aneurysm
  • FA: Aunt with ruptured aneurysm
  • Hx: Arterial hypertension and Flow diverter for treatment of an ICA aneurysm on the left side (2018)

 

Radial access with: 7F sheath, RIST 079, Phenom 21 Microcatheter and Pipeline Vantage 3.5 x 14mm FD

Check the:

  • Distal position of the RIST catheter due to the great flexibility of the tip
  • Additional support in the aortic arch with a 0.035” stiff wire in the RIST
  • Can use a combination of 0.035 with Phenom 27 for big Flowdiverters
  • Or combination of 0.035 with Phenom 21 for Artisse implantations
  • Or Apollo and Marathon for AVM Embolisation

Conclusion

Patient discharged with medication:

  • Clopidogrel 75mg 1-0-0
  • Ticagrelor 90mg 1-0-1

for 3 months. Without neurological deficits! (mRS 0, NIHSS 0)
