"Flossing Technique”: A Key Strategy for Crossing the False Lumen in Carotid Dissection

In this case, a 42-year-old woman awoke with left-sided hemiparesis and dysarthria. CT scan showed no hemorrhage, but angio-CT and further investigations revealed a carotid dissection, along with occlusions in the M1 and frontal branch of the middle cerebral artery (MCA).
To ensure the success of a treatment strategy combining stenting and thrombectomy, the surgical team employed the “flossing technique”, explained step by step by Gustavo Correa.
