Comparing different thrombectomy techniques in five large-volume centers: a ‘real world’ observational study

Ferraz_Fausto

The authors compared isolated and combined use of stent-retriever and aspiration technics for thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke.
Isolated option included rescue maneuver, which meant conversion from stent to aspiration and vice-versa.
Combined technic was primary aspiration plus stent-retriever.
Datas were collected from 5 high-volume in Germany including 450 patients.
Primary endpoint was recanalization rate and secondary analysis included time to reperfusion, new territory emboli and others.

Results:

-       Rescue maneuver was more frequent for primary aspiration versus primary stent-retriever (34% x 10%).
