A tribute to Eric Devineau

Last update on March 9, 2026
Eric Devineau

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Eric Devineau, who passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 65.

Eric was above all an epicurean, a man deeply in love with life, embracing it fully and passionately. His zest for living was infectious, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him will remember both his extraordinary warmth and his unwavering professionalism.

For more than 20 years, Eric was a respected and well-known figure in our field. He held major leadership roles, first at EV3 / Covidien and later at Balt, where he served as Vice President, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues and peers alike.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eric’s passions were many and wonderfully eclectic. He had a profound love for wine, with a culture and knowledge that matched his enthusiasm. He cherished sailing, especially his beloved Dragon sailboat, enjoyed tinkering and building things with his hands, and possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of Persian carpets!

His cherished island of Noirmoutier held a very special place in his heart. There, he had acquired the seaside house of his dreams and devoted all his talent and taste for decoration to carefully renovating it. It was the place where he envisioned a well-deserved retirement, savoring peaceful days by the sea with the love of his life, his wife Catherine.

Catherine was his reason for being, and his two sons, Guillaume and Thomas, were his greatest pride. Family meant everything to Eric. He was a powerful force of unity, always bringing people together with generosity, kindness, and a deeply human spirit. Relationships, friendship, and shared moments were at the very center of his life.

We lose an extraordinary person, whose presence, generosity, and love for life touched so many. His laughter, his wisdom, and his spirit will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to accompany us for a long time to come.
