It is with deep sadness that we remember and honour the life and legacy of Jean-Claude Lechien, who passed away on September 1st at the age of 67. As Senior Vice President and Managing Director Europe within MicroVention-Terumo, Jean-Claude was a visionary leader who played a pivotal role in shaping the field of Interventional Neuroradiology. For over 30 years, he forged trusted relationships with colleagues all over the world, leaving a lasting impact on our specialty from its inception.
Jean-Claude was not only a brilliant professional, but also a true ‘bon vivant’. His jovial nature, combined with his exceptional team leadership skills, made him a cherished figure in every room he entered. He was a man of elegance and refinement, always eager to establish new and strengthen existing relationships, whether in business or in life.
Our heartfelt thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time. We also extend our deepest sympathies to his colleagues at MicroVention-Terumo, who have lost not just a leader, but also a dear friend. Jean-Claude’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the many advances in our field he helped bring to fruition.
He will be sorely missed.
