It is with a devastated heart and deep sadness that we inform you of the sudden death of Thierry de Bosson, Chief Commercial Officer of MicroVention-Terumo, at the age of 60, on March 27, 2024.
His death leaves the world of Interventional Neuroradiology in great distress, with immeasurable sorrow and an irreplaceable void.
He was cherished by all who knew him for his passion, his work ethic, and his dedication to advancing science and saving lives. We owe him a debt of gratitude for having pioneered the need for clinical studies to evaluate implantable medical devices. He was in love with his profession, a hard worker and always happy to talk for hours with doctors and colleagues, seeking new projects and challenges. His warmth and humanity were among his greatest qualities, and fostering human connections was at the core of his professional approach.
At some point in our lives, we have all admired his passions, particularly for wine and sports. But in fact, he was passionate about everything, he was passionate about Life, and he devoured it wholeheartedly. We will remember his frank and sincere laugh, so jovial, so characteristic of him. He leaves us far too soon, far too young.
In honoring Thierry's memory, we are reminded of the importance of working together as healthcare professionals and industry partners toward a common goal: improving the health and well-being of our patients.
Our thoughts are with his family, especially his wife Pascale, their children Marie, Charles, and Nolwenn, and their granddaughter Alice, as well as Lucas, Eliot, and Violette. Our heartfelt thoughts also go out to his colleagues and all the staff at MicroVention-Terumo. We send them our deepest condolences.
May his spirit of innovation, compassion, and friendship continue to inspire us all.
